“Merry Christmas”

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night. We had a beautiful day very hot and humid Christmas. Even though it was hot we still had yummy roast turkey. Everyone enjoyed spending time with family and beautiful friends.

I do miss Cincinnati in the  winter time, nothing like snow on a Christmas day.

I hope you had a blessed  Christmas day as well.

More quotes… “I just can’t help it”

Neil Anderson’s book, The Bondage Breaker: “You don’t have to out shout him or out muscle him to be free of his influence. You just have to out truth him. Believe, declare, and act upon the truth of God’s Word, and you will thwart Satan’s strategy.”

C.S. Lewis’ book, The Weight of Glory: “Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”

Jim Cymbala’s book, Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire: “People who have a seeking heart still make mistakes. But their reaction to rebuke and correction shows the condition of that heart. It determines what God is able to do with them in the Future.”

Henri Nouwen: “The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing… not healing, not curing… that is a friend who cares.”

Kay Arthur’s book, As Silver Refined: “The first “degree” of depression is dejection – a lowness of spirit, a feeling of spiritual and emotional fatigue. If not reverse this dejection takes us down even further, plunging us into despair and finally into utter demoralization. At this stage of decent, hope is entirely abandoned and is replaces by apathy and numbness… My goal is that no matter how fierce or long the battles we face, you and I together will be able to say, “But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through him who loved us” ( Rom. 8:37, NASB).

Dr Chuck Lync’s book, I Should Forgive, but… “Bitterness is like a rock thrown into a placid pond; after its initial splash, it sends out concentric circles that disturb the whole pond. It starts with ourselves, expands to our spouse, then to our children, friends and colleagues.”

C.S.Lewis: “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speak to us in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”
