“Anyone who is having troubles should pray. Anyone who is happy should sing praises.” ~ James 5:13

When a Christian person prays great things happen! There is no right or wrong way to pray. If you want to deepen your prayer life then you will need to spend time in prayer. You don’t need to prepare to pray or read about prayer or even go to University of Church studies or talks on prayer. If your mind wanders don’t worry God knows your mind. He created you to be a thinking person, just get back to the point of prayer. And the whole point is talking to God, sharing your heart and listening to Him.

Do what works for you! Do you have a quiet space to pray in? Maybe you pray in your garden? Perhaps you play music when you pray? Some folks only pray when they are inspired. And if you are inspired every day, then great. But if you aren’t inspired everyday then you may need to press on and still pray.

Then there are times when prayer can be a struggle. I would like to suggest that if your prayer life is a little lacking or inspiration isn’t flowing daily then praying through a Psalm in your bible will really help. King David was a man after God’s own heart. He was flawed and a sinner and his prayers were awesome, they read like poetry. God loves to hear from His children, even if all we can pray at times is just a few words. He know’s our heart better than we do.

Below are some scriptures talking about prayer. ~ Sarah

“Pray with thankfulness and praise in your heart Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” ~ Philipp 4:6
